У меня redHat:
после первой установки при запуске startx мне писали:
[root@localhost /root]# startx
xauth: error in locking authoring file /root/.Xauthority

fatal server error:
Could not create lock file in /tmp/.tX0-lock

_X11Trans.Socket UNIXConnect: Can't connect: errno=11 giving up.
xinit: Connection refused (errno111): unable to connect to X srver
xinit: No such process (errno3): server error


2.)Я в третий раз поставил RedHat и у меня заработал Midnight Comamnder
4.5.42 и он полносттю руссифицирован (!) правда справка на англ.яз.

но это уже прогресс,раньше он у меня не запускался а щас работает (!)
мне надо настроить свою видеокарту GeForce 2 MX 32 Mb,монитор LG
Studioworks 563N,мышь genius NetScrool+ и модем U.S.Robotics
3.) новая ошибка выводимая при написании startx (после третьей переустановки Linux RedHat 6.2 Zoot:
***None of the configurated devices were detected.***

Fatal server error: no screens found

Xconnection to: 0.0 broken (explicit kill or server shutdown)
