в вашем конкретном случае он не активен. Подробнее можно проситать здесь. Еще есть волшебный файл /etc/defaults/rc.conf. Там можно посмотреть параметры, задаваемые в файле /etc/rc.conf.

Сейчас бойца зашлю, сервер на другом конце города находится, хотелось бы взять сразу все, что может понадобиться, чтобы сто раз не ездить.
