How much space will the Windows Disk Protection cache use on my shared computer’s hard drive?
Windows Disk Protection needs at least 4 GB of unallocated space on your Windows system partition to create its minimum 2 GB cache. The amount it uses by default is approximately 50% of available disk space, but not more than 40 GB.
It is possible to resize the cache if necessary. For more information see “Resizing the Cache File” in the Windows SteadyState Handbook.
