I can't install NT with my AcceleRAID, the controller isn't recognized.
Question
I have an AcceleRAID controller installed in my computer and have configured it without problems. I am now attempting to install WIN NT on the system, however it won't recognize the controller. What could the problem be?
Answer
There are a couple of possible reasons the controller isn't being seen by the system:
1) Make sure an IRQ is assigned to the controller within the system BIOS. If no IRQ is assigned then the AcceleRAID will not be recognized by the operating system.
2) You must use the current driver (dac960nt.sys) provided by Mylex. The older driver shipped with NT will not work with the AcceleRAID controller.
3) The installation of NT must be done booting from the floppy disk and not from the CDROM. Booting from CDROM will not allow the controller to be recognized because the driver on the CDROM predates the AcceleRAID controller line.
