*UPDATE: I left my laptop running the entire night. It was connected to the Internet. The driver for the audio that was last installed was the one for Windows 7 64-bit. The laptop was asleep when I woke up. Now, it has sounds. When I restarted it, the sound disappeared again. I put it to sleep and woke it up after a few seconds - I have sound. So, the bug may have something to do with device power. I hope this helps someone out there. People with Conexant Audio, try putting your PC to sleep then wake it up - sound should work. This doesn't mean it is fixed, it simply means the MS guys need to rewrite the driver code and put it up on Windows Update or get one of the Conexant programmers to do it.
